On Saturday the 1st XI hosted Bramhall, both teams winning their opening games the weekend before. On a bitter day down at Booths Park Bramhall won the toss and chose to bat.

Early on the decision looked vindicated as the Bramhall openers of Ashley West and Adam Wilde got to 50 without looking troubled. West had raced along to 45 from 48 balls before he was bowled by Tom Forster. With this the scoring slowed dramatically and wickets fell regularly due to some smart captaincy from Jimmy Lomas and tight bowling from his bowling unit. The dangerous Iftikhar Naseer was well caught on the boundary by Sam Hatcher off the bowling of Rob Jones who again showed his all-round talents taking 5-36. He was well backed by Forster 3-48 and Lomas 2-29 as Toft bowled out their opponents inside 50 overs for 152.

Toft looked solid in reply chasing down their victory target for the loss of only 3 wickets. Ed Stubbs enjoying a promotion up the order due to the absence of Rob Sehmi, he scored 59 not out including 10 fours. Forster also contributing with 32 and Henry Hughes 23 not out.

The victory meaning a maximum of 50 points claimed from their first 2 games of the season and a trip to Didsbury to look forward to next weekend.
