Cheshire sculptor Andy Burgess is carving the world’s largest cricket wickets from colossal 11-metre Douglas Fir logs. Standing at a record-breaking 8.5 metres, they’re set to smash the current world record held in Australia!
This ambitious project is part of our £100,000 fundraising drive for a brand-new pavilion – building a space that future generations can be proud of.
These giant stumps are a powerful symbol of the huge role cricket plays here in Knutsford and around the world.
The wickets will be on display from this Thursday - just in time for May Day and will remain up throughout the summer at Toft Cricket Club – and everyone is welcome to come and see them up close!
